Paste this on the userpage of new people to welcome them to the Wiki! Use this with {{subst:Welcome|~~~~}}. Note that this MUST be substituted with the subst: prefix, or else it will not sign correctly, and may change. The ~~~~ is simply for your name, and by default, will sign it, though if you wish to include something else in place of your signature, you may do so.
Further advice
Make another one just for you to use
On your user page you could create a link to something like Template:Welcome/Your_name then make the resulting page a copy of Template:Welcome and modify it any way you like. Then you can type or paste {{subst:Template:Welcome/Your_name|~~~~}} on a newcomer's page and not need further personalising.
